Can I get a reverse mortgage on a home that I rent out to other people?
Is this something I can only do on the home that I live in, or can I get a reverse mortgage on a home I have rented out to tenants?

One of the eligibility requirements for a reverse mortgage is the property you take one out on must be your main residence. If you do not live in the property, but instead you simply rent the home out to tenants, this will mean the property is ineligible. If however you live on the promises too, either in a separate unit or in the same home, this does not disqualify you. It is possible to take out a reverse mortgage on properties with up to four apartments.
