Can I get tax credits when using reverse mortgage proceeds?

If I use the money from a reverse mortgage to help pay for the college tuition of my grandchildren, will I still be able to get a tax credit? Thanks!

"No, tax credits are not usually a factor that affects a reverse mortgage. If you meet our requirements criteria and qualify for a reverse mortgage, you can certainly opt to use the money to help pay for your grandchildren's college fees. However, as you will not be making payments back to AAG, you cannot claim this as a tax credit. I highly recommended that you consult your tax advisor on this matter, he will be able to give you in-depth and specialized information on your exact situation. Then I'd like you to contact AAG, as we have a great team of friendly professionals who will answer any other questions you may have.
