How long will I have to sign the paperwork once I get approved for a reverse mortgage?

Is there a time period to make sure I go over the paperwork for a reverse mortgage thoroughly? Can I cancel it if I need to?

There is no limit to the amount of time you can take to complete your application for a reverse mortgage. If you leave it a long time from receiving your paperwork to completing the application, interest rates may change and the amount you can be loaned may alter. You can halt proceedings any time before you sign the final paperwork, in fact you even have up to three days after signing the final documents to cancel your reverse mortgage without penalty. This is known as a 'cooling off' period, and you can cancel in this time period for any reason you wish. On average, it takes about 40 days from the initial phone call to AAG to the money arriving in your bank account. There are some circumstances which can slow down the process, but my colleagues will ensure any issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
