If I get a reverse mortgage, I know that I will need to get my home appraised. Who is responsible for appraising them? Do I have to hire someone to appraise the house?

The appraisal is conducted by a third party, and because of this, you will need to cover this cost out of pocket. However, this appraisal is a crucial part of securing the help we can give to you. It may be an expense to you now, but the overall benefits of a reverse mortgage will far outweigh this fee. You do not need to worry about who to contact though, we make all the arrangements for you. Your dedicated reverse mortgage professional will liaise with you and make the appraisal appointment at a time that suits you best.
