Will obtaining a reverse mortgage ruin my credit?

I am considering a reverse mortgage on my home, but I do not want to ruin my credit. Would this be a wise choice?

Absolutely not, a reverse mortgage cannot negatively affect your credit score. You will have more money available to spend, and can get yourself out of debt, so it may indirectly improve your credit score. A reverse mortgage is not a "monthly repayment" type of loan, and so it is never rated through the credit agencies. Remember, as long as you do not break the loan terms you agree to, you will not be required to make monthly repayments to us and the loan will not be due until you choose to sell or leave your home.
