Will a reverse mortgage help me be able to see my children more?

My children live cross country in California, so I don't get to see them very often. I would very much like for them to be able to come and stay with me more often, and I would like to go visit them. I am short on money and need a way to make more. Could I use the money from a reverse mortgage to travel to see my family?

Absolutely you can, this sounds like a great way to spend the proceeds of a reverse mortgage. Once you have paid off all liens against your home, the remainder of the equity you release is yours to spend however you wish. This money is yours on a tax-free basis, so please enjoy the freedom it will being you. Have a wonderful time visiting your family.
